Code of Conduct

At Old Colony Y, we are committed to creating an environment where everyone feels respected, safe, 
comfortable, and included. While using our facilities or participating in our programs, all individuals are 
expected to honor our core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. In that spirit, we 
expect everyone to respect the rights and dignity of all members and YMCA staff while participating in 
person or online.

If you feel anyone is violating our Member Code of Conduct, please don’t hesitate to notify a Y staff 
person. This list outlines the standards to which we hold all visitors to the Y.

OLD COLONY Y…

  • Is a smoke free, drug free, and alcoholic free environment
  • Is a weapon-free environment
  • Does not tolerate harassment, abuse, or intimidation by words, gestures, body language, or any type of menacing behavior
  • Does not tolerate physical contact with another person in an angry, aggressive, or threatening way
  • Does not tolerate sexually explicit conversation or behavior, or any sexual contact with another person
  • Does not tolerate theft or behavior that results in the destruction or loss of property
  • Does not tolerate the taking of photos and videos of another person without their consent

Old Colony Y’s first priority is the safety of our members and guests – especially children. The YMCA conducts regular sex offender screenings on all members, participants, and guests. If a sex offender match occurs, the YMCA reserves the right to cancel membership, end program participation, and remove visitation access.

Use of Facility Policy

Lost / Stolen Items

Please do not leave valuables in clothing pockets or any unsecured area or space. We encourage you to store them securely while enjoying our facilities. Old Colony YMCA is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Photo Waiver 

It is understood and agreed that Old Colony Y reserves the right to take and utilize pictures, 
likenesses, videos, and testimonials of participants for promotional purposes including, but not limited 
to reports, publications, brochures, emails, our website, and other instances of online presence.
I hereby authorize and permit Old Colony Y, also known as Old Colony YMCA, or its authorized agent, 
without compensation therefore, permission to publish, reproduce, and use my photograph or 
likeness, with or without my name.

Membership Policies

If I purchased a monthly membership. I agree to the following:

  1. I have given authority to my bank or credit card issuer to honor preauthorized debits drawn by 
    you on my account on or around the 10th or 25th (or nearest business day) of each month for 
    the current months membership.
  2. It is understood that the draft on my account shall constitute valid notice of such payment due 
    on my membership.
  3. When the bank or credit card issuer honors the payment, my account statement shall 
    constitute receipt for the payment.
  4. Should any preauthorized credit or bank draft not be honored by the issuer when received by 
    them, then it is understood that payment has not been made and I am responsible for making 
    the payment directly to the Old Colony Y.

Membership Cancellation Policy

Member Right to Immediate Cancellation: You may cancel your membership without penalty or further 
obligation during the first thirty (30) days of your membership by submitting in writing your notice of 
cancellation. All membership fees paid to Old Colony Y, including joiner’s fees, will be refunded to you.
Member Ongoing Right to Cancellation: After the first thirty (30) days of membership, you may cancel 
the remainder of your drafted membership at any time by giving us thirty (30) days advance written 
notice or through your online account. The cancellation process is simple and can be completed using 
the same method you used to enroll (either in person at a branch location, or through your account 
page). Joiner’s fees are NOT refundable after the first thirty (30) days of membership.
Additional Rights to Cancellation: You, or your estate, may also cancel your membership for the 
following reasons and receive a prorated refund:

  1. In the case of your death.
  2. Written notification from a physician stating your inability to use the facility due to health 
    issues.

When a membership is cancelled for the reasons stated above, any unused membership fees 
previously paid by the member at the time of cancellation will be refunded on a prorated basis. The 
refund will be sent to the member or his/her estate within fifteen (15) business days of Old Colony Y 
receiving the written notification of cancellation.

Credit Card/Bank Draft Agreement

  1. The credit card/bank draft is a continuous membership plan. I understand that my 
    membership will remain in effect permanently or until I initiate its termination in writing or 
    through my online account.
  2. I understand that if I wish to terminate or change my membership in any way, I must give Old 
    Colony Y thirty (30) days advance written notice to cancel the membership for the following 
    month.
  3. Old Colony Y may, at its discretion, adjust the monthly rate it charges for my membership. I 
    understand I will receive at least thirty (30) days notice prior to the change.
  4. Should a draft not be honored by my bank for any reason, the service fee charged by Old 
    Colony Y is in addition to any service fee my bank may charge.
  5. I understand that after two (2) unpaid drafts, Old Colony Y will immediately terminate my 
    membership until all payments are up to date.

Membership Refund Policy

Cancellation within the 30 Day Trial Period: Full refund for any reason only when requested by the member.

For any other reasons, a 30 days written cancelation notice is required prior to terminating the membership. This notice is waived if the termination is for medical reasons.

Other Membership Policies

  1. My membership may be placed on hold for up to three (3) months per calendar year at no 
    charge. I must give 30 days advance written notice prior to the date I wish my hold to begin. 
    Hold requests must be in writing and must include a draft restart date. Holds must be for at 
    least one (1) month.
  2. Old Colony Y is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  3. I and my dependents will not bring weapons, controlled substances, or alcohol on YMCA 
    premises.
  4. Violation of rules or inappropriate behavior toward any member, guest, program participant or 
    staff is cause for termination of membership at the discretion of Old Colony Y.
  5. All members are required to have a photo on file.

Program Refund Policy

Cancellations: 

  • Prior to session start date: Full refund
  • Within first 7 days of the session: 100% Merchandise Credit.
  • After the first 7 days of the session: 0% refund.

League jerseys are non-refundable.

Personal Training Refund Policy

All sessions are non-refundable. Single Sessions expire 30 days from purchase date, 5-pack purchases expire 60 days from purchase date, 10-pack purchase expire 90 days from purchase date, 20-pack purchase expire 150 days from purchase date. Our personal trainers require 24 hours cancellation notice. Failure to notify will result in the loss of your session. Unused training cannot be transferred to another client. Refer to your personal training contract for additional information.

Camp Refund Policy

  • $60 registration fee per week per child.  This fee is non-refundable.

  • Payments must be paid in full no later than the date stated in the camp brochure, or upon registration thereafter.

  • Tuition refund will be awarded for medical reasons (doctors note required) or relocation of family with proper documentation. A formal request for refund must be made in writing.
