The Old Colony YMCA, based in Brockton, Massachusetts, is a non-profit organization dedicated to offering a variety of services to youth in our 29 southeastern Massachusetts community since 1993. Old Colony Y Mentoring is proud to provide children ages 9-18 for 1:1 and 8-15 for group with positive, caring adult mentors. This is a free service that we provide. We believe that every child can benefit from having a dedicated friend outside of the family; someone who is there for that child and spends time with him or her because they want to. Our community-based program offers traditional one-to-one matching of Mentors and Mentees. Matches enjoy activities such as playing sports, visiting parks/museums/libraries, biking, hiking, or just spending time together.Become a MentorFor more information contact us!1:1 Mentoring: Josilma Montrond - jmontrond@oldcolonyymca.orgGroup Mentoring: Zahrya Pereira - ZPereira@oldcolonyymca.org Children in Consistent Mentoring Relationships are... 46 % less likely to begin using illegal drugs 27 % less likely to start drinking 52 % less likely to skip school Mentor Application for AdultsApply to become a mentor.
