History of the Tournament

In 2004, a passionate group of dedicated volunteers led by Dr. Andy Miller, who was also a member of the Plymouth Y Board of Governors at the time teamed up with a group of generous and philanthropic White Cliffs Country Club residents to develop and run a golf tournament to give all kids the chance to experience a summer at Camp Clark.  Since then, the tournament, led by a group of committed and passionate committee members have continued to grow and flourish. White Cliffs has helped us raise over $226K over the past 14 years providing over 1,130 kids the opportunity to experience camp.

Camp Clark

At Camp Clark, campers are able to meet new friends, experience new adventures, and spend time with caring adults.  The funds raised from this tournament will help to provide financial assistance to children and families in Plymouth who can benefit from our services.

Last summer alone at Camp Clark…
  • Over 900 kids attended Camp Clark, exploring the outdoors, making lasting friendships and thriving with the support of positive mentors.

  • Daily, campers were able to experience swimming, boating, zip lining, archery, reading at the Nook (library), science, fun on our famous WiBit and so much more!

  • Over 56% of campers received camperships; providing over $146,000 in financial assistance.

  • Over 50, 9th-grade students were given the opportunity to participate in an amazing leadership training program

  • More than $43,000 was given in Education Gap scholarships to 100 kids at risk of summer learning loss.

Association-wide at Old Colony Y…
  • $1,541,187 was raised in our 2016 Annual Campaign, providing more than 7000 children & adults with financial assistance to participate in healthy activities.

  • More than 3100 children were provided with a safe, supportive and educational environment daily.

  • More than 530 adults and children experiencing homelessness were supported with housing

Your support makes Camp Clark a reality for those children that may not otherwise be able to afford it.

Old Colony YMCA began working within the town of Plymouth in 1979 when we acquired 83 beautiful acres alongside Hyles Pond that now serves as our summer camp, Camp Clark.  Each year, more than 3,400 children attend  a week or more at Camp Clark enjoying a holistic curriculum including aquatics, group games, youth sports (including baseball, basketball, soccer, t-ball, etc), ropes course, team-building activities, archery, arts and  crafts, humanities offerings, and educational pursuits   such as literacy and math activity packs, library time and more.

Camp Clark is not just a place to spend the summer – it is a place where children make memories while receiving encouragement and support from caring mentors. It is a place where children receive the guidance they need to make the right decisions in life, learn skills that give them extra confidence when they return to school and make friendships that will last a lifetime. In the process, they have an absolute blast and are deeply impacted by their time spent at camp!
