Intensive Transition to Independent Living in Fall River

The Intensive Transition to Independent Living Program is a co-ed community based residential program.  Services provided are commensurate with the basic principles and practices of the PAYA program.  An individual treatment plan is developed according to the client's specific needs and goals.  A team model approach to the treatment is utilized upon the screening of each client via an interview meeting and intake conference.  The client is then assigned to the treatment team consisting of the youth care advocate, caseworker and clinician.

While living in the program, each resident is required to attend to his or hers educational needs.  Full time enrollment into Fall River Public Schools will be the first option or alternative school with GED program and night school the second option. All residents must maintain employment in the community on a part-time basis during the academic year or full-time during the summer months. Long-term and short-term bank accounts will be established to ensure the proper management of funds with 1/3 paying for living expenses, 1/3 paying for aftercare services, and 1/3 paying for personal usage.  If employment cannot be secured in a timely fashion, volunteer work is required.  Financial management (i.e. budgeting) will be a continued area of focus.
