Group Exercise
The Old Colony YMCA offers an array of group exercise classes to help our members reach their fitness goals, while making friends and having fun in a group setting. From spinning to yoga, every member, regardless of age or fitness level, can find group fitness classes at our branches to benefit from.
20-20-20
This class brings you 60-minutes of a workout that won't quit! Starting with 20-minutes of aerobics, 20-minutes of high intensity step, and ending with 20-minutes of muscle conditioning, this class will have you pumped and ready to explode!
Step
The Step workout uses every major muscle group in the lower body, defining muscles, but also burning calories to assist in the reduction of body fat. This is a low impact aerobic conditioning workout.
Step Interval
A whole body workout that combines step and weight training in 3-5 minute intervals. An abdominal segment and relaxing stretch follow. We guarantee you won't be bored with this workout!
Muscle Conditioning
A total body workout. Class begins with a warm-up, stretch and toning exercises. This class is a good place to begin or get back at it!
Cardio Combo
Low impact aerobic conditioning with scuplting exercises added to isolate all major muscles, thereby achieving upper and lower body definition.
Step Combo
This class consists of a warm-up followed by 20-minutes of step, 20-minutes of muscle conditioning and a cool-down.
Back, Belly and Butts
A class that focuses mainly on those parts of the body. Incorporating techniques from yoga, stretching and muscle strengthening exercises, this class will teach you many different way to work on your lower core muscles.
Stretch Class
This class focuses on improving flexibility through proper stretching techniques. Benefits include low risk of injury, improved range of motion and reduced lower back discomfort.
Cardio Kickboxing
An intense cardiovascular workout that incorporates punching, blocking and kicking techniques all in an aerobic format. These classes wind-down with floor work and light stretching.
Group Cycling
This indoor class challenges your physical and mental stamina. Appropriate for beginners to world-class athletes. Sign-up is required for all group cycling classes.
Body on the Ball
Learn to tone and define all major muscle groups using the stability ball and your own body resistance. Gain better balance and posture while strengthening abdominal and back muscles like never before.
Yoga
Yoga is a way to give yourself a peaceful interlude in the midst of a busy life. Yoga combines stretching, breathing and relaxation into a routine that leaves you refreshed and optimistic.
Relaxation and Meditation
Learn to calm the mind and de-stress the body using exercises you can practice at home, in the office or while stuck in traffic.
Boot Camp
An exercise format that is sure to rev up the most avid exercisers. Aerobic/resistance exercises, endurance games, circuits and even outdoor activities are just a few of the innovative ideas used to train the entire body.
Zumba
High energy Latin and international music mixed with new-age dance moves. A fun experience for all fitness levels.
