Child Care

The Old Colony YMCA is the largest provider of before and after school programs in Massachusetts.  We offer a wide variety of programs that provide safe, fun and nurturing environments with exciting, hands-on activities. We offer child care options to suit the needs of families.

  • infant care
  • toddler care
  • preschool
  • before school care
  • after school care
  • school vacation programs
  • summer camp programs
  • babysitting while parents work out
  • child watch
  • teen programming for when your child out-grows child care

Our programs feature an emphasis on health, development and enjoyment.  While programs for small children are focused on strong caring, development, and safety; programs for older children add home work assistance, character development, health and wellness programming and social development.

A separate registration form is necessary for each child.  Return the form with your non-refundable $35 deposit per child.  A Department of Early Education registration packet will be sent to you once your registration is processed.  The packet must be filled out at the beginning of each school year in order for your child to enroll.  Please be sure to note any allergies or special concerns when completing these forms!

Why choose the YMCA for your child?

  • All YMCA employees must go through a background check.

  • All child care employees are first aid and CPR certified.

  • All of our School Age Child Care Programs are licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).

  • Compare our prices to other child care solutions - the YMCA is cost effective!

Our TODDLER CARE PROGRAM (ages 15 months-2.9) provides safe, quality care for your children while simultaneously allowing them to enjoy structured learning, play time, snacks and outdoor play. The staff-to-child ratio is 1:4.

Our PRESCHOOL CARE PROGRAM (ages 2.9-6) provides your child with challenging and enriching learning experiences. Certified teachers will lead your child through a variety of activities such as music, arts & crafts, educational basics, gym activities, and outdoor recreation. Each child has the opportunity to grow at his/her own pace while having fun and making new friends. The staff-to-child ratio is 1:10.

Our INFANT CARE PROGRAM (ages 6 weeks-15 months) program provides your infant with a secure, warm, loving atmosphere to learn, grow and thrive in.  Our staff are trained in all phases of infant care and our center is furnished to reflect the needs of very young children.  The ratio of staff to children is 1:3, thus ensuring that the young ones in our care receive the high degree of care and supervision they require.
